Economy
Value
Usul high Merc dealership premium, however worth it to rectify any problems you encounter.
Costs
Good fuel economy. Must have high cost main dealer service to ensure free 30 year 'Mobilo life' roadside assistance maintained, howver well worth it. No need for AA or RAC!

On the road
Driving
Had BMW prior. Needed weight training to drive this car! Very heavy handling, but felt very safe. Folding mirrors useful, as well as Auto lights and wipers. Gearbox could be smoother.
Performance
Not as nippy as predecessor due to extra weight, but does the job. Engine noisy when you put your foot down.

Living with it
Reliability
Initial ignition problems and watch out for worn breaks - ensure main dealer does thorough checks, but to be on safe side and to get money's worth, make sure you do your checks only £100 with AA or RAC.
Image
Get black or silver. New shape takes time to get used to but 'mini S-class' is growing.
Comfort
Little legroom at back, seats should be 'all' electric rather than 'semi' and with memory. Feels smaller inside compared to previous model. Good ride, which handles British bumpy roads well.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm/immobiliser standard. If battery runs flat on remore, you will not start car because immobiliser is in key, however you will be able to get in car.
Service
Excellent sales service. Initial ignition fault dealt with by roadside assistance very well, however usual POOR Mercedes service desk customer service. Needed a dealer Head Offfice prompt!
