    Value

    2 out of 5 2.0

Having paid £26 000 for an Avantgarde model, I have to say I was disappointed I could have bought a V6 Audi A4 automatic, with full leather, for the same price. Slightly disappointing.

    Costs

Mercedes dealers never hold back at services. I'm tempted to leave things unfixed, to avoid the £500 visits! I'm sorry? £30 for an orange indicator bulb.... The car does about 35mpg in everyday driving, rather good for a supercharged petrol.

  • On the road

    Driving

    4 out of 5 4.0

While not an incredible sports car, the C-Class handles well, and I always feel very well stuck to the road when driving the car. In short, it's very easy to drive.

    Performance

    5 out of 5 5.0

The car is very sprightly indeed for a 1.8! Performance is more than satisfactory.

  • Living with it

    Reliability

    3 out of 5 3.0

A sea of seemingly endless electrical faults constantly come up on the trip computer. Fortunately, these are minor faults, and if Mercedes dealers think I'm visiting them when such minor glitches come up, they've got another thing coming. Engine is fine.

It's a Mercedes, so yes, it's got a good image - nothing extraordinary to report.

    Comfort

    5 out of 5 5.0

My favourite thing about the C200 is that, even with sportier Avantgarde suspension, it rides extremely well. It's seats are also quite comfortable.

  • Security and Service

    Security

    5 out of 5 5.0

Security is fine - nothing bad to point out.

    Service

    2 out of 5 2.0

Too expensive. Should be far better.
