Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not really interested but it does stand out although there are loads of them on the road now.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Like the look of the car.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No more Mercedes for me seems they cant shake the quality control issues from the past e.g. my previous E300 TD which was a rust bucket.
What are you likely to buy next?
Toyota / Lexus or would consider a 3 series BMW.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£14,700
When did you buy the car?
June 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got the car at reasonable price from an MB dealer. It had been discounted already and was about to find out why.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Seemed Mercedes were back to building solid, reliable quality cars again unlike previous experience of my E300 TD.
What was the dealer like?
Bought the car purely on the reputation and the fact that the MB salesman said they couldn't find a single problem with the car when it was traded in to them . They were very pushy and insistent that I give them 10 out of 10 on their customer feedback feedback forms.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Its poor around town with its agricultural sounding diesel engine and , lumpy auto gear changes hanging onto the gears too long. About 25 mpg around town which is about the same as my old E300 TD Reasonable on long runs on the motorway when it comes into its own.
What's it like to park?
The parking sensors help with its high boot when reversing but the sensors only sound when you are too close a vehicle or object. My Astra Van has much better warning parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The vehicle had damage to the underside around the exhaust and front nearside alloy wheel which was not apparent in the showroom. Annoying intermittent fault display "rear seatbelt not engaged" with no passengers in the back. Power steering rubbing noises, very lumpy auto gear box changes especially first two changes. Sunroof has started working intermittently. MB could not resolve any of the faults saying they could find nothing wrong doing software re-programms only. Car was under MB warranty but means very little in my experience. Just got a load of BS about the causes of the problems.
What's most practical about your car?
Reasonably good boot space.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Electrically adjustable seats.
