Summary
What does this car say about you?
Hope that I am considered discerning and have made a quality based decision
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it and find it comfortable to travel in. Son and daughter like to drive it and are both surprised by the acceleration (and economy)
Would you buy this car again and why?
Still like the car after 15000 miles. Have changed tyres from the standard fit Continental to Michelin Primacy HD and the ride quality is considerably better on poor road surfaces with precise steering control.
What are you likely to buy next?
Ex demo Jag XF or an MB E class

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£27,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
I doubt any MB dealer gives a good deal - they seem inflexible. The car was fitted with Xenon lights, Brabus chip (200 BHP), folding rear seats and the electrically adjustable suspension dampers. Got a reasonable PX on my trade in (not a MB car!)
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
this was an ex-demonstrator and well specified
What was the dealer like?
Quite good salesmen who seemed to care about your relationship with them and the business. No high pressure technique, they let the car sell itself.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very relaxing, is faster than my previous BMW525d. Good on motorway and quiet over distance. Added torque of Brabus engine chip aids economy. have averaged 40 mpg over 2000 miles since I took delivery and got 47 mpg on 350 mile motorway journey at 75/80 mph
What's it like to park?
No problem since I had rear park sensors fitted. Wing mirrors good for reversing with.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Rear door would not open when I got home. Quickly and obligingly fixed when returned by replacing door parts. No attempt to do quick fix.
What's most practical about your car?
The excellent engine/transmission combination - smooth gearchanges.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Brabus engine chip
