Summary
What does this car say about you?
Nothing ............ i gave up thinking posh cars were some sort of status symbol, I'm 50 so not interested in that any more.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Generally liked, i have a light blue one and it does look very nice.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Possibly, quality is certainly there in the way it is built but it's a "twiddle car" you just sit in it and drive, it isn't really very involving to drive as it tends to isolate the driver from the road, i suppose that is the intention. Nice long distance cruiser though
What are you likely to buy next?
Will look at current Mercs and Audi's in three years time when I replace

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£32,000
When did you buy the car?
July 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
Good deal on Contract Hire for the 350 during the summer when they were having the problems with the injectors on the 220 and 250 CDI's. Got offered a C350 for a few pounds a month more than a C200 so it was good value
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good deal on Contract Hire for the 350 during the summer when they were having the problems with the injectors on the 220 and 250 CDI's. Got offered a C350 for a few pounds a month more than a C200 so it was good value
What was the dealer like?
Patchy, difficult getting a test drive and vague information
-
Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Generally pretty good, feels solid as you would expect. Slightly dissapointed with the engine refinement for a V6. Sounds like a van when its cold and certainly much less refined than the latest VW 2 litre diesels !!! ( Had an A3 on hire for few weeks before Merc arrived )Gets better once fully warmed up and cruises very comfortably on motorway. Forget official fuel economy figures they are wildly optimistic and in my view impossible to achieve. Driving 100 miles on a motorway in the middle of a calm night I got 45 mpg at constant 70 (cruise control on)General driving with very light foot I am getting high 30's at best.
What's it like to park?
Easy with parking sensors
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing yet
What's most practical about your car?
Parking sensors which i hadn't ordered became standard across the range so mine has them fitted. Quite useful to my surprise
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
First time in an Auto for many years, didn't think I would like it but auto boxes so much better than they used to be Standard cruise control is very good and used much more than I thought I would
