Mercedes-Benz C-Class Saloon (2014 - 2021) C 220 d AMG Line 9G-Tronic Plus auto (12/16 on) 4d Owner Review

I originally leased this car privately before purchasing it from the lease company. It's been a superb car for me, being reliable, comfortable and safe. I took out the MB service plan and I'd recommend it highly. There are no costs on the day at all and they'll even wash and clean it. Plus you get RAC thrown in.

The car is responsive and handles well. It's very comfortable on long drives. I sometimes visit a client in Norfolk and it's a five hour drive. I never feel tired after.

What's gone wrong with it? Not much really. In 147,000 miles I've had one MOT failure which needed a suspension arm but you can blame the state of the roads for that. I had nO2 errors for a while but cleared it by removing and cleaning the sensors overnight. A simple youtube job. I also updated the nav maps a few times with a new SD card. I'd NOT recommend that, it's slowed my system down badly due to the extra memory needed. I have tried several tyres but recommend Eagle F1 Asym 5, they've been great for me. I also had the bonnet catch system break. Turns out the cable stretched and I fixed it myself cheaply.
It says a lot of I'm talking about such small things going wrong over 147k and I think that sells the car. I really LOVE it and am planning getting another when I can afford it, probably either the diesel hybrid or the C250D. I don't recommend the park assist system if you have high kerbs. I grunched my wheels on the very first time I used it, less than two weeks from new! I also bought an aftermarket stereo head unit which has been good and bad. Great for its android auto and carplay feature but it's quite glitchy if you're thinking of buying one.
