Summary
What does this car say about you?
I guess it's a sign that you appreciate quality. This is a fine piece of engineering.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it..
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes - though probably shell out a bit more and get the 'premium plus' package instead of the premium. Would get the uprated sound system and Command Online for that.
What are you likely to buy next?
Not sure - quite like the look of the new Jaguar XE or XF.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very refined, smooth and comfortable. Mine has a petrol engine, so especially quiet around town. The auto box is smooth and responsive, and the steering sharp. 'Sport' mode makes the auto box hold on to gears longer, and also changes down sooner during braking. The latter has the effect of making slow downs less smooth and unless you're pressing on I'd suggest staying in comfort mode most of the time. The engine is a sweet unit and free revving - there's plenty of power needed when required. The Garmin Map pilot sat-nav is functional and does the job. However, the cartoony graphics are a little at odds with the rest of the multifunction system. I guess the more expensive HDD based sat-nav (Command-Online) system would be more in keeping :-).
What's it like to park?
Easy, with rear view camera fitted as standard. I've not tried the 'park assist' yet, since I'm not sure I would trust it!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing so far..
What's most practical about your car?
If you have your hands full with shopping, the boot can be opened by waving your foot under the rear bumper (as long as you have the key with you). Great feature! In terms of overall kit, this is a very highly equipped car. The LED lights are great, the ambient lighting very cool - even the external door handle recesses light up when you unlock the car at night!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
My wife would say the heated seats :-) As for me, 'keyless go' - so long as you have the key on you, the car will automatically unlock as soon as you slide your hand round the door handle. Mine comes with the 'standard' sound system. For extra you can purchase the Burmeister premium sound system. Initially, I was a little disappointed with the standard sound - it doesn't have the same 'punch' as the system fitted to the Audi A6 I traded in. Nevertheless, it's grown on me. The sense of space and stereo separation is really very good, even if the bass is unlikely to set your neighbour's window frames rattling.
