Mercedes-Benz CLK Coupe (2002 - 2009) 220 CDi Avantgarde 2d Tip Auto Owner Review

Superb, car refinement is up there with the best, road holding even with cheap tyres is fantastic. Now had three versions. 1/ 2005 200 kompressor - very refined engine seems to pull the faster you travel average mpg 34 with heavy foot can push 39 mpg at steady 65-70mph 2/ 2004 240 convertible better engine with more grunt and roughly the same mpg roof up or down best open top £3-5k in the land by miles. 3/ Managed to find a pristine 2005 220 CDI in 2012 with ever extra except a sunroof. Its very smooth, over 40 mph you think your in a GS450 H I know because I have one as well but the CLK is more fun to drive on twisty stuff. One thing no-one tells you is with the back seats down you you can get as much in as a Volvo V50. CLK is a classic car in waiting and the only thing to watch for is wheel arch rust pre 2005 but can get it with high mileage younger cars but easy to fix at £120 per corner. Heated seats are wonderful for sore backs and general comfort is fantastic. Mercedes was nuts to stop production in 2009.
