Mercedes-Benz CLK Coupe (2002 - 2009) 270 CDi Avantgarde 2d Owner Review

In their own words
I bought a 54 registered CLK270 CDi manual; in 2021 making this a 16.5 year old car. The car came with extensive service history, initially with MB and then with independent specialists. Mechanically the car is absolutely perfect. I cannot detect any faults whatsoever; perfect through the gears, smooth, rapid acceleration; turbo seems healthy. I suspect it needs new discs and pads on the rear wheels. The interior of this old Mercedes CLK is literally 10/10. It's quite unbelievable - there is not a scratch, mark, no bolster wear, no steering wheel wear, nothing. It looks like a new car - in beautiful black leather. The exterior hasn't faired quite so well, with some minimal early rust bubbling under the paint on the front arches, and a small crack in the rear bumper. I bought this car as a cheap diesel mile muncher - but it is so much more than that! It is ridiculously refined to drive for it's age and mileage. It handles and performs beautifully. It is fully loaded with every conceivable extra, including climate. Every mile in this car is a happy one! Best thing of all? I paid the princely sum of £950 for this car. It's just insane; although the exterior condition, while being quite presentable, may look more like a £950 car, the interior and driving refinement feel like £20k cars I've bought. I'm not a fan of newer Mercedes as I believe they have sold out, and the quality level is now no better than a new VW or even Ford. But these 10-20 year old Mercedes - if well maintained - are carved out of granite, and give a beautiful driving experience.
