In their own words
Fantastic car which is surprisingly cheap to run. Excellent performance and generally only needs regular servicing. Interior still looks as new. At over 170,000 miles it’s still on its original engine, gearbox and turbo. Minor suspension parts have been replaced (ball joints/link bars etc), a few glow plugs and the glow plug control module (£100 on eBay and easy DIY fitting in 2-3 mins). Just avoid main dealers, the car was in an awful state mechanically and cosmetically when purchased as an approved used car (better now with 110,000 extra miles on the clock), had a very dubious new MOT issued by the retailer despite a number of dangerous faults in the braking system (only sorted when I threatened legal action and reporting them to the DVLA), dealers try everything to avoid doing warranty work even when clearly covered (go direct to the underwriter of the warranty and get authority then inform the dealer they have to deal as a warranty job - they just don’t like having to discount by 40% when charging the warranty company - far better charge you 100%), tried several (6) different main dealers and all were incompetent and constantly trying to charge you for things I proved they hadn’t done (air filters are a favourite as they’re difficult to get to on the underside of the “V” of the engine so they don’t bother but happily add it to the bill!). Amazing car but dealers are a massive disappointment and are to be avoided at all costs!
