Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe (2017 - 2023) E 450 4Matic AMG Line Premium Plus 9G-Tronic Plus auto 2d Owner Review

Purchased an ultra low milage (16 month old and 100 mile) E450 demonstrator with multiple option packs fitted with a good saving on the brand new price and I am reviewing the car on the purchase price not what it would cost brand new which would knock a few stars off the ratings above. Main issue to date was the need to replace the main battery at 400 miles but this was most likely due to the car's age and lack of use. I've had thesame warning light come up 2 months ago highlighting the intelligent lighting had stopped working but turning the lights off and on seems to have stopped that warning reoccuring in last two months. A big potential concern over my last 2014 E400 coupe is the gear selector in the new car regularly failing to fnd reverse gear. This has happened multiple times in 6 months use of the E450 and happened about twice in 4 years with the previous E400. Just to highlight that the gear selector on the semi automatic gearbox is a "simple" stalk on the RHS of the steering column not a traditional UK gear stick style. Milage has been very limited due to CV 19 restrictions but the E450 is more a uxury drive than the smaller, more agile, more responsive old style E400 C207 coupe. Once CV19 restrictions are removed I hope to get a better informed view of the E450s performance and handling over longer trips in "sport" and "sport plus" driving modes but at present its a "comfort" setting 10 minute ride to the supermarket that forms the basis of this review
