Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate 230 TE 5d Auto (W124) (1991/J) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
At £3700, it seemed a very good buy.
Costs
Only concern was the 18" low profiles - as the tracking is slightly out and one tyre needs replacing. However, with a car like this one expects to pay a bit more to upkeep it!

On the road
Driving
Silk!
Performance
Obviously not as 'quick' as my wife's 2.0i Primera, but it's got it. Acceleration is reasonable - after all, it is a family estate car, not a sportscar.

Living with it
Reliability
Feels solid. Driver's window doesn't wind down properly - rubber seems to stick. Need to take the door panel off and investigate.
Image
Merc! Already turning heads with the neighbours and it's 11 years old!
Comfort
Plenty of room. Dicky seats in the boot too small for me, but I'm 6' 4". My wife can sit in fine and she's 5' 9".
