Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate E220 5d (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A lot of car for the money - especially second-hand.
Costs
Expensive to service - repairs best done by independent, although some M-B main dealers give 40% discount on labour for older cars.
-
On the road
Driving
Lovely relaxed drive, except when anti-roll bar bushes wear.
Performance
Fast enough to get into trouble. If you want a sportscar, then don't buy an estate!
-
Living with it
Reliability
Rock solid.
Image
Grandad's and Surrey Mum's car - but at least I don't get any hassle from BMW drivers.
Comfort
Loads of room - especially with 7-seater model.
-
Security and Service
Service
Most main dealers very poor. Go to Tony Purslow for good service and reasonable costs.
