Summary
What does this car say about you?
It keeps its thoughts to itself.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They don't really have much to say. It's pretty anonymous in a way that a BMW would not be!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Proabably, as it's so convenient and easy to live with, although the price of the latest model is starting to get beyond me. It has been very economical to run.
What are you likely to buy next?
No plans yet.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Powerful in all the right places for a basic engine, holds cruising speed very easily - which could be anything you want it to be, even when fully laden. 39mpg over 40,000 mixed miles. Surprisingly swift without being stretched. Perfectly matched to the auto, pulls away from rest very well (and much more accomplished compared to previous model E220). However, it does thump over rough roads and the rear seats, etc rattle in a way that my other car never does.
What's it like to park?
Very good turning circle but the shape is deceptive and you end up worrying about tight spaces and where the extremeties might be. I dont have Parktronic and this is really essential - in a way that wasn't with the boxy shape of the previous generation.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major - failed heated wing mirror, various interior and suspension rattles that have returned despite dealer efforts. Basically absolutely reliable over 4 years.
What's most practical about your car?
Acres of space. Exceptionally comfortable and relaxing on long journeys.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
You tend to take the many standard fittings for granted as they are so effective. No special options on this car. Cruise control works better on this than any other car I have had. The stereo is excellent with good sound but infuriatingly the mute button is not repeated on the steering wheel which is a major distraction. Bluetooth works fine but the directory system is primitive.
