Summary
What does this car say about you?
Sensible shoes, good taste.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Love it - my children say it is comfortable and their favourite.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Like a shot - but would like four wheel drive.
What are you likely to buy next?
Range Rover because M-B doesn't import the 4x4 E-class estate.
-
Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£35,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Price was OK, but the car's 'grey import' status made subsequent warranty claims a nightmare.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Previous experience of M-B.
What was the dealer like?
Dreadful. The car was a 'grey import' which meant reduced warranty and no M-B Euro Roadside assistance. I had to resort to legal measures to obtain redress.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent - torquey and auto shifts smoothly, brakes are outstandingly powerful, ride is smooth and economy is fine for size.
What's it like to park?
Very easy, despite size - turning circle is tighter than many small hatchbacks.
-
Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A few things. Broken road spring, turbocharger failed and took catalytic converters with it, gear selector fails occasionally so car is stuck in neutral or reverse.
What's most practical about your car?
Cargo load bay, seven seats.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Electric 'swing away' steering wheel, dipping n/side door mirror when reverse gear selected, memory seats, four zone a/c, in-dash CD multi-player.
