Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate (2010 - 2016) E250 CDI BlueEFF Sport Edition 125 5d Tip Auto Owner Review

This is the 2nd E250 S212 that I've owned. When the car is running, it is simply fantastic. However, in three years it has had three different electrical melt-downs, all part and parcel of the same underlying electrical complexity and fragility. As a result, it has had to go away to be mended on the back of an AA lorry three times - for a nearly new car supplied by MB this is totally unacceptable. Even more unacceptable has been the catalogue of lies and incompetence that has been the response of MB UK who have failed to get to the bottom of the problems, and have consistently tried to lie, hair-split and weasel their way out of their warrantee obligations. I have now changed to using an independent MB specialist - Colin Ferns Ltd - in Richmond, who have given great service, but on balance I don't think I'd have another. Shame, because when it's running, it's the best car I've ever owned - fast frugal, handles well and lugs a huge load when needed.
