Economy
Value
Got a fully serviced 9 year old Merc with 85,000 for £4200! I can't complain there!
Costs
Expensive brake discs and pads, but not too thirsty being a 2.3. Not had to spend anything else on it so I'm pretty chuffed with a one off payment for discs as the first set of brakes had been on the car since new! Had to replace Cat though, not too dear.

On the road
Driving
Superbly smooth and a treat to drive, auto-box is very silky and cleverly learns your driving style and adapts to it. Brakes stop you on a dime. Can't fault it!
Performance
As it's a 2.3, it isn't the fastest, but it can move if you need it to. Sticks to the road positively and assures you at all times, as I don't drive like a madman, the performance is more than adequate for me. Buy an MX-5 if you want a sports car!

Living with it
Reliability
Catalytic converter honeycomb thing went, but that's normal in a 90,000 car, has happened to me twice before with different cars, so I'm not too bothered. other than that, nothing to report!
Image
Still looks great and if you stick a private reg on, no one knows the difference, I tell people its a 1999 and they believe me so that's OK by me!
Comfort
Amazingly comfortable, great seats and plenty of room. Titanic boot space and rear legroom is generous. Again, can't fault it.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and Immobiliser can't be broken without the actual key, and I wouldn't like to try and force my way in through those vault-like doors!
