Economy
Value
A Bit Expensive, but definetely worth the money. Heavy on fuel, but it's luxurious. A much better car than my previous Alfa-Romeo 156.
Costs
Though it's a Diesel, the car is heavy on fuel. Average 25 mpg. But then it's a 3.2 6 Cylinder turbo diesel. However, being a Diesel you should expect a much betterfFuel economy than that. Parts are Expensive, but so far repairs were covered by warranty.

On the road
Driving
Super smooth, and reasonable in quietness considering this is a Turbo Diesel Car. Handles pretty well, for it's size and weight. Predictable Oversteer around corners and Brakes works well. Traction Control is a must on slippery conditions though.
Performance
Very Fast! Considering, this one Big, Heavy, Automatic and Diesel Saloon. Effortless Performance from the 320 CDi Engine with loads of Torque. Automatic Gearbox is great! Intelligent and Smooth.

Living with it
Reliability
Mine had some annoying Niggles and Dealer isn't too much helpful. But overall, the Car is reliable. Not much as you would expect for its Price and Fame. It's not a Honda in terms of Reliability, but this is definetely not an Alfa-Romeo.
Image
A Lexus is an overpriced and overrated jumped up Toyota, A Mercedes...IS A MERCEDES! It attracts much more attention and receive more positive comments than my previous 2002 Alfa 156 Saloon Veloce 2.4 JTD. My Merc is dark blue and looks fantastic.
Comfort
Refined interior makes driving long distances less stressful. Seats are Perfect and the Back Seat is Ample. Boot is Enormous and Driving Position is Spot On!

Security and Service
Security
Second to None! Insurance is Very Expensive, but then it's a Mercedes.
Service
Dealers are arrogant and the service is poor. Three attempts to fix it the alarm, All the time they said to me, the alarm was ok. Until the alarm gone off in its own Car Park finally they believed me! And the Car arrived two weeks of late.
