Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I've found the engine to be strong and reasonably efficient with 38mpg around town and up to 50mpg on a steady run. Handling is safe if a little uninspiring; you don't get much feedback through the wheel. The bad things; firstly the auto box which can be very sluggish. I went for the new 7 speed version expecting it to be better than the old 5 speed but while it brings better efficiency, it's no sports box. The other thing is the gruff engine noise. No way should a car with a premium image like the Merc sound this rough. It embarrasses me sometimes when carrying passengers.
What's it like to park?
It's large, but the front and rear sensors generally help when you get too near to things. However, the rear sensors didn't help my wife when tackling a dwarf wall, the bumper bears the scars of that encounter.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Stereo just went blank once in the first month and refused to work until the car was switched off and back on again. Trouble was I was on a long journey at the time with nothing but tyre noise to keep me company.
What's most practical about your car?
Spacious cabin Large but impractically shaped boot space. Disappointed not to have folding rear seats, this really limits DIY trips for long items.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Retro fitted HID bulbs. Drastically improve night driving.
