What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Friends and family are impressed with it's looks and comfort.

Would you buy this car again and why?

No. I'm not happy with the fuel consumption and insurance cost, versus the same for BMW 5 series. Also, the 5 series dash and controls look and function far better than the Merc. One of the most frustrating things is the column gear change, which I just can't get use to.

What are you likely to buy next?

Either an Audi Quattro A7 or Q5. Or BMW X5 or X4. Also considering Landrover Discovery Sport HSE.

Did you get a good deal and why?

I think I paid the right price at the time, although it has somewhat depreciated more than expected.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Light coloured leather interior, and also believed I would get more mpg with the hybrid model. Also, only £10 per annum to tax.

What was the dealer like?

Friendly, unpressurised, and knowledgeable.

What's it like to drive?

Cruises smoothly on the motorway, and in town, and is quiet for a diesel. The Hybrid unit is a big disappointment though, as it doesn't deliver the claimed fuel consumption, and cuts out to the combustion engine far too early. I also find the column gear change very frustrating to use, as it doesn't feel natural.

What's it like to park?

For such a big car, it's very easy to park, and this is greatly assisted by the front and rear sensors, as well as good visibility all round. That said, the most frustrating thing that hinders parking is the column gear change. It doesn't feel natural, and I just simply can't get use to it.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I am somewhat disappointed that the fuel consumption does not fully achieve the figures quoted by the manufacturer, even when I try very carefully to test this. I had a 2012 BMW 5 Series before this, which achieved 67 mpg. This Mercedes is supposed to average 68.9 mpg, and achieve well over 70, but the best I've had from it is around 62 mpg. This is very disappointing for a Hybrid. Although car tax is only £10 per annum, this is completely negated by the fact it costs a lot more to insure than the 5 series, and does not achieve its fuel consumption figures.

What's most practical about your car?

Spacious, roomy, airy, bright interior, and smooth ride.

SatNav, Parking sensors front and rear, folding mirrors, hands-free Bluetooth phone prep.
