Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon (2009 - 2016) E350 CDI BE (265bhp) Avantgarde (Ext Pk) (Map Pilot) 4d Tip Auto Owner Review

Exudes class, build quality exceptional, cabin class, truly excellent V6 3litre diesel, 7 speed auto super smooth. Surprisingly economical - get low 50’s to gallon on long runs at say 60-80mph. Also get low 40’s ‘around town’ with sedate driving. Great chassis, positive road holding, very quiet and lack of road, wind and engine noise. Truly astounding acceleration - even when fully laden for such a large car and makes smooth and very rapid progress to (indicated) well above limited 155mph (Outside uk!!) and still remains quiet and very stable. Huge cabin and huge boot. Great infotainment kit and exceptional Europe wide sat nav. Only real downside is Merc service costs excessive and intervals and options quite confusing but service plan is available for newer cars. I’d definitely have another - truly quality piece of engineering. Note I was originally a mechanic by trade prior to becoming an ops manager in later life and this gets my ‘well put together’ vote and was my ‘early retirements car for road trips with the good lady - this car was made for that. Trip to discover Ireland ‘ on the hoof’ by simply touring was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable experiences imaginable in this fantastic machine. Get one!
