An absolute disgrace from start to finish. Initially the franchise in Hamilton sold the same car to two different people - and I was the one that didn't get the original car. The new car that I purchased failed after one month when I was parked in the centre of some traffic lights (waiting to turn right) and the auto stop/start failed to re-start the car. Other cars were flying past me in the opposite directions. Imagine the screams from my daughter this point. The MB garage, much to my dismay at the time, replaced the starter motor, without even checking if the starter motor was faulty - this led to a heated debate between myself and the lead mechanic at the MB dealership. One year later the engine started revving randomly and if driven for several miles would turn the performance of the car very sluggish with only second and fourth gears available (and a strange message about reverse gear not being available). The roadside mechanic was unable to fix the problem (the company's servers were down - surely they knew this before they sent him, as the servers had been broken for at least a week). I picked the car up from the MB garage a couple of days later after a software upgrade and alleged road test. After driving the car for less than 5 minutes, it was clear that the problem was still happening. During this short drive I determined that the problem disappeared if the auto start/stop was disabled (back to the original fault).The car was returned to the MB garage the same night. The car has now been in the garage for 4 weeks and received a new clutch and a new gearbox without fixing the problem. The dealership, relaying information from MB UK, state that they have never seen this problem this model of car. The car is still not fixed and thy will not grant me a replacement vehicle, leaving me paying for a very expensive car and not having the car to use. The customer service is absolutely shocking, refusing to return my e-mails and refusing to send me a copy of their customer care charter (so I don't know the official complaints procedure). What an I do - legal action I suppose?
How reliable do you find the car?
The car has been fitted with a new starter motor, software upgraded, a new clutch and a new gearbox. It is till not fixed and they refuse to give me a replacement.About their car
