Mercedes-Benz M-Class AMG (2006 - 2010) ML63 5d Tip Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
This thing is an absolute beast in a way that the official stats don't quite do justice to.
Definitely faster than the official figure suggest. It embarrasses many an expensive high-powered sports car should you so decide. The 6.2 litre V8 32 valve engine is a true masterpiece (basically a racing car engine) and sounds thunderously glorious. The load capacity is huge and you can carry a serious amount of swag especially with the rear seats folded. The interior space is great with loads of headroom and legroom for all occupants.
It does of course have a drinking problem, but you don't buy one of these to be frugal! Treat the fuel gauge as an 'econ-o-meter' or 'fun-o-meter' instead.
A great car that had a few issues on earlier models, (such as inlet manifold leaks and water ingress in the rear lights due to faulty rear light and rear side window seals, the latter of which is costly to rectify).
However, make sure you get one that has had the proper regular maintenance done on it and it should reward you with great reliability. The engine can be extremely costly to fix should the need arise.
Fully recommended but it needs serious coin to fuel and service it as a rare car like this deserves.
How reliable do you find the car?
Handbrake cable snapped due to rust on the only exposed part. Not an easy fix as the rear seats and centre console need removing to fit the new one. Water ingress around rear lights from seal around lights and seal around rear side windows. Known issue.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Hugely practical, spacious, luxurious and with prodigious performance. Didn't think I would like such a huge car this much, but it ticks all the boxes.About their car
