Mercedes-Benz M-Class (1998 - 2004) ML270 CDI 5d (99) Owner Review

Owned from new for 16 years and 200k miles. A good car both on road and off road. Great for winter driving. First 150k miles had virtually no problems. From then had a few problems as you would expect with higher milage. For example some engine ancillaries (Alternator, A/C compressor, PAS pump) needed replacement along with some suspension bushes and brake lines. Most annoying problem was the 6 or so cases of injector leaks, which a cheap to repair, but make a mess of the engine and cause fumes in the cabin. This is known issue with this type of Mercedes diesel engine.
