Mercedes-Benz M-Class (98-04) rivals
Overview
M-Class looks good, but isn’t the status symbol it once was unless you crave the Mercedes-Benz badge above all else. It can’t match up to the current Range Rover in terms of ability or ride quality, but is a true rival to the previous model. It’s lavishly finished and fitted with the kind of electronica expected in this class. However, it’s built in the USA, not Stuttgart and there have been criticisms over quality – especially on early models.
The 2005 replacement puts M-Class back to the top of the class.
