Value
I paid £23,500 in June 2001 for a car with 16,000 miles on the clock and an original price ticket in January 1998 of £60,470. If buying a good-as-new car of this build and performance quality at the equivalent of 61% discount off of new price isn't bad.
Costs
Servicing over 3 years [June 2001 – May 2004] has been carried out by M-B Main Dealers. The average annual cost has been £1068, and includes 'normal' servicing as well as some heavier-cost individual items such as: 4 new tyres, discs and pads all round.

Driving
This double-glazed masterpiece is the quietest drive one will ever experience, allowing conversations to take place in the car at high speeds, as if in one's own lounge at home. Unexpectedly VERY fast, with a warning that speeds of 120mph feel like 70mph.
Performance
This is a car that requires to be driven with respect, but is capable of leaving most cars on the starting blocks in a challenge to be away from the traffic lights first. High speed cruising is what this car was built for.

Living with it
Reliability
Why are we even talking about reliability? Does it rain in Manchester?
Image
Driver creates perception of wealth, when this car can actually be run on an average income, but making the owner feel richer than he is.
Comfort
Palatial comfort – enables the driver and passengers to drive long distances and arrive feeling as though they've just left.

Security and Service
Security
Would be difficult to steal and perhaps not too attractive for the opportunistic yob who perhaps prefers something easier to break into might think his street 'cred' would be tarnished if seen driving this old man's car!
