Summary
What does this car say about you?
My SL is black - I think some people think I must be Batman. Personally I just love the styling especially the (very retro - could be a 1970's Corvette) view down the bonnet.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I must be having a serious mid life crisis.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Probably not; late 30's MPG is truly amazing and £250 servicing respectable but it's all dwarfed by the vertical drop resale value. The only way this car will be good sense financially is if you drive it for 30 years.
What are you likely to buy next?
What could top the SL? Not much.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
February 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
The car was a cancelled order and the dealer had registered the car already and keen to move it. I got the impression SL's have not been flying off the forecourts as MB might have hoped.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good deal from the dealer, car was pre-registered with delivery miles.
What was the dealer like?
I have bought several Mercedes before and their dealers do make you feel special.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Faster than you'd think for the 350 - especially in sport; easily the fastest four wheeler I have had. Handling OK but it's a wide car and you need plenty of road! I like the ride and it's not too hard.
What's it like to park?
Sensors essential.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No
What's most practical about your car?
Supreme comfort on long trips, up there with my last S500. Big boot but only if you don't want to put the roof down.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Oh the roof -it's amazing technology and I never get bored of having the best of both worlds.
