What does this car say about you?

It shows I appreciate a classy car - also that I like to have a bit of fun...and have no kids!!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it is very smart - though they all get a shock when getting in, saying, "Oh, isn't it low!"

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes - but I cannot afford a newer one, and plumped for one which is exempt from the CO2 emissions road tax. I intend keeping this car for ever, and have just had some rust treated under the rear wheel arches before it got a hold.

What are you likely to buy next?

I expect I will have an electric car next - but hopefully not for another 20 years.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Independent

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £10,800

When did you buy the car?

    December 2006

Did you get a good deal and why?

I got a good part-exchange with my Nissan Almera. The SLK was a low mileage with 2 previous owners and had been looked after.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted to treat myself to the best car I could afford and one which would feel "special", having reached an age when the insurance would be affordable.

    What was the dealer like?

    OK

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Beautiful - for me it has plenty of "poke". I have used the override of the automatic box in icy weather once, keeping the car in 2nd gear and successfully getting to work. I love having fun, but it has to be a good smooth piece of road as it is a very firm ride. Anything with potholes - which is most roads these days - makes me drive a lot more sedately otherwise I wouldn't have any teeth left!!

    What's it like to park?

Eazy-peazy lemon squeezy - especially with the roof down!

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

    No

What's most practical about your car?

Huge boot takes a lot of grocery shopping. The width of the car is good as I am "statuesque" and I have enough elbow room not to bump passengers. Also lots of leg-room. Tried a Honda S2000 and could hardly move in the cabin - also hate my friend's Mazda MX5 for same reason.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Heated seats! - Cup holder was a bit of a surprise too!
