Mercedes-Benz Vaneo 1.6 Trend (102bhp) 5d Tip Auto (2003/03) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Good dealer deals, nobody thinks they are any good, so great value low mileage cars available
Costs
Poor fuel economy and lousy overpriced dealer servicing costs
-
On the road
Driving
Auto box is easy and very stable for such a tall (small) vehicle excellent brakes and holding
Performance
Have to learn how to get best from the drive, after a while you can get caught out with how fast you are travelling in what is a pointy box, (not that you'de get far beyond the speed limit even downhill when fully laden)
-
Living with it
Reliability
Few initial glitches, (and it had been used by a dealer, but they didn't bother to put small faults right) no real bother since then, but too early to moan perhaps
Image
Mainly use it for carrying my goods and servicing equipment so compared to other pure vans I've owned it's a big improvement (as a car it reminds most people of a hurse)
Comfort
If you are buying to use as a versatile vehicle it is comfortable and easy to drive, compared to many family salloons it's a van (which it is, but it's a very good van)

Security and Service
Security
Seems fine feel more comfortable leaving items in luggage area with tinted glass to deter oportunist theives, don't think anybody would be wanting to break in just to steal the car (no street cred in that)
Service
Beautiful showrooms and coffee facilities (seem not to want to service low life's cars like mine?)
