Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 33 - 47 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Labour and servicing costs are expensive. Service intervals depend on how hard the car is driven. Good fuel consumption, especially from the 1.7 CDI. Insurance groups are average for the class.
Vaneo is relatively green and easy on the environment. With an average of 186 g/km CO2 across the range, its emissions are fairly standard for a people carrier. The range is not particularly economical, averaging 38 mpg.
Engineered from the proven A-Class, it’s unlikely to give problems but quality is not up to Mercedes-Benz (passenger car division) standards. Rattles from the interior trim are particularly bad.
