MG Motor UK MG6 (2011 - 2016) 1.9D TL GT Hatchback 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Let's start with some personal background, I've been driving 20+ years, spent 6 years in vehicle rental with use of many different brands, some so called 'prestige' marques.
Of those cars, some have been great workhorses, some great b-road drives, some full of toys, some with plenty luggage space. Most I've owned have been top spec, leather etc.
One has done all of the above, the MG6. Outspecs many supposedly 'better' brands (you know the ones, £5k extra for a badge, indicators don't work, emissions scandals, seem to have a magnet front end attracted to your exhaust) for half the price you'd spend on a mid range premium car. Cruises on the motorway with plenty of etra oomph when required. Handles like it should be 2 segments lower in size (I can only think of the Civic that comes close, but then that has a shoebox boot by comparison). Get it on twisty b-roads & it's pure fun. Rear leg room more than a Signum (according to my son, who's spent plenty of time in the back seat of both)
MPG can be anything from mid 40's on short local city/ b-road runs to high 60's on longer Motorways runs (when behaving!). I Have in all honesty not driven another car I would rather spend my money on. Sure, a few I'd rather drive, but then they cost more than the house!
Oh, and the Sat Nav seems to have a 'fun chip' it sure can pick out some amazing routes!.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Took family of 4 on a camping trip to Wales, with a larger tent than the year before, 2 1 year bigger teenagers, got all luggage IN the car, year before had needed a roof box on a Signum. Amazing handling, loves corners far more than a car of this size has a right to.About their car
