Economy
Value
Quite good actually. I paid £8300 for 97-R with 39,000 miles on new engine which was replaced at 19,000 miles due to oil leak which could not be fixed. I know 2 others who paid £2k more for 1.8i.
Costs
Haven't had any yet touch wood. Fuel is ok but use the power and it's not great, but hey what car isn't like that.

Driving
In dry weather it handles superb, but comes unstuck very easily in wet if you even try and use the gas on a corner, but its rear wheel drive so what would you expect. Steering wheel too low.
Performance
VVC is rapid! Needs to have a little more power in 1st though I think. Loves revs!

Living with it
Reliability
Ok so far touch wood. Should have thought more about the hood as underneath the cloth is sharp metal edges! Mine is peeling.
Image
Always turns heads, partly due to extra noise from sports exhaust.
Comfort
Comfy, but wish steering wheel was adjustable on early models.

Security and Service
Security
No thieving gits yet, but alarm seems good - went off when I leaned in with the alarm on and roof down so works for me.
Service
Local dealer was awful! Came back filthy and with big scrape on rear bumper which took 3 attemps to get the colour right! But where I got it from is great! --> Trident MG/Ottershaw.
