What does this car say about you?

I love the car and although a few people throw around the 'hairdresser' comment they soon shut up when the sun comes out and you leave them standing at the lights!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Most of my family were a bit dubious about the reliability and practicality of the car but now they have seen me live with it for over a year they now think it's perfect!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Absolutely! I challenge anyone to find something more fun for the money!

What are you likely to buy next?

Won't be getting rid of the TF anytime soon but if I do it will be another one!!

    No

    £2,500

When did you buy the car?

    October 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

This car was a part-ex that the dealer was selling. The car had 1 owner from new, 38,000 miles and full service history - it was clear that it had been looked after as it was immaculate! It only had 3 months' MOT so the dealer put a new MOT on it and threw in 6 months' tax as well! Just after I bought the car I had it checked out by my local garage and everything was fine except the main underbody coolant pipes which were corroded. I immediately contacted the dealer who told me to get it repaired and to send them the bill (£130) which they paid immediately. Fantastic service, can't fault then!!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    Style, control and useability!

    What was the dealer like?

The dealer was friendly and helpful and gave me a good deal.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

The most fun you can have on a budget with cars out there for less than £1,000! Roof down and plant your foot - holds the road really well and the styling is less 'hairdresser' than an MX-5! It also has an MG badge! Lol. Fast fun and practical!

    What's it like to park?

Easy to park, small and nimble. It's slightly harder to park with the roof up due to the plastic screen but small enough to not be a big problem and although the wing mirrors are small you get a surprisingly good view from them!

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

So far no problems, MGTF's have a poor record in the reliability category however if you look after them with regular servicing (I suggest a quick oil change and water change every 6 months) then you can get away with a lot less problems.

What's most practical about your car?

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

    Soft top!! For obvious reasons!!!
