MG ZS EV SUV Exclusive auto 5d Owner Review

First EV owned. Great price for the specification and safety features. Don't expect to get the 160+ WLTP range except maybe in the warmer summer months. Cold weather really affects the battery performance (2.9 m/kWh in Winter, 3.8 m/kWh in Summer), so with effective usable 40kWh from the battery gives between 116 and 152 miles of real usable range. With care can almost get to one pedal driving but regen is limited when the battery is cold. The drive is comfortable thanks to the great heated seats (400 miles in one day with no issues) and although the suspension is firm, it works well on UK roads. Road noise is ok around town but increases significantly at motorway speeds although not to an unacceptable level and the audio system will win out every time. Infotainment system can lag a little but Android Auto works great. Good points - internal space, comfort level, safety features and panoramic sunroof. Points to consider - no app to monitor battery charging etc, cold weather battery performance and efficiency (it is an SUV!). I would still buy another one, it was worth the extra for the Exclusive model, I haven't had charging or battery management issues, but read the owners reviews and find a recommended dealer.
