friends and family like the car apart from the wife. Hates the (lack of) ride comfort

probably not because they don't make them any more although if a late model 180 was available I would be tempted!

a similar powered sports saloon/hatchback, but one with a far more compliant suspension

Did you get a good deal and why?

book price for my trade in and the model I bought is selling for the same amount now as I paid a year ago so that can't be bad.

What was the dealer like?

no problem at all, Had 2 test drives, pleasant, polite and not pushy. A pleasant experience

What's it like to drive?

good performance for just under 120 bhp in a car of this size. Positive gearchange and superb handling, roadhandling and steering. Great high speed stability. Good driving position. Car gives great confidence in bad weather conditions. Only let down is appalling ride comfort on the badly maintained roads which are all over the country.

What's it like to park?

turning circle not great but you soon get used to it, likewise reduced visibilty with large rear spoiler. Good visibility from large door mirrors and compact exterior dimensions make it pretty easy.

Have you had any problems with the car?

gasket, clutch, heater fan control and a few other minor faults, most covered under a warranty I took out on purchase. Annoying but hopefully should be OK now.

What's most practical about your car?

roomy interior and boot space.
