Economy
Value
Great value. Paid £20k new for a cancelled order including options RRP of £26k.
Costs
Thirsty and heavy on tyres. Managed to find a good supplier of original Michelin tyres now £700k for a set of four instead of silly prices from the usual suspects £1100!

On the road
Driving
Excellent handling with rasping engine that is willing to rev. Leaves smaller supposedly sports cars standing on challenging roads. Loves twisting roads and feels secure unless you do something totally stupid.
Performance
Could do with more power. Would love the V8 but consumption will be crippling.

Living with it
Reliability
96k miles in under three years with only a slave cylinder failing which unfortunately damaged the clutch and flywheel. Ouch!
Image
I love it and since the demise of MG-Rover a lot of people have been said they wish they could get one now! A bit late for patriotism lads now!
Comfort
Excellent. I regularly do long Motorway journeys. Never come out with any aches and pains, unlike the awful E-Class I had before.

Security and Service
Security
Great but watch out for the opportunists hitting your estates. Had the back window smashed twice in three months with "smash & grab" attacks. Follow the police advice, leave nothing in the boot and make sure you do not pull the cover over.
Service
Used three Dealers and everyone is helpful, friendly and can't do enough for you. Send your Merc Dealer for training there!
