ZT scores an acceptable 4-stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests and features front and side air-bags for driver and passenger, whilst curtain airbags are optional. Traction control is only fitted to the ZT260 model, but good body control helps ensure you shouldn’t lose control. An immobiliser and deadlocks are standard, but an alarm is optional. Anti-hijack door locks activate automatically once the car has moved off and cannot be opened with the engine running unless you press the central locking button on the key fob.

Safe but irritating.

The boot is a reasonable size, although it’s quite shallow but there’s still room enough for most load carrying requirements and the seat backs will fold down for larger items. In the cockpit there’s plenty of provision made for minor storage.
