MINI Clubman (2015 - 2024) Cooper Classic Steptronic with double clutch auto (07/19-) 6d Owner Review

In their own words
Car itself fine and good quality. Drive brilliant. Let down, however, by appalling tech which feels as though it's been designed by a 16 year old whose "good with computers" but who hasn't got a licence so doesn't know what a driver actually needs. Let me say at the outset that I'm very good with all things tecchy - not much defeats me. This car has. For example (and there are many), the satnav is simply appalling. Navigation is difficult and it doesn't clearly show your route or next expected manoeuvre. Only gives a very confusing long view and highlights many roads - not just the one you are travelling on. Doesn't identify which lane you should be on at a multi-lane junction. No safety camera alerts, no facility to save favourites and the home setting doesn't appear to work properly. No road speed limit information. Voice control is problematic - "drive home" gets me to Holme or even Hull and I speak pretty clearly. I have to put my own street address in every single time! Can't even work around this appalling piece of junk using Android Auto as it only supports that teenager hipster favourite - Apple (and there is only 1 usb port at the front so even if it did, I'd have to sacrifice my music usb). I still can't work out how to set the trip. The manuals are rubbish - tease you with half the info and then stop, leaving you hanging. The e-version seems to relate to an entirely different model than mine. I'm not convinced that lane departure and collision warning systems are working. The onboard computer gives you lots of stuff the average driver doesn't want, but not much they do. I wouldn't buy another or recommend it.
