MINI Cooper S 1.6 3d (02) (2003/52) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Used prices are a little less than a bog standard new Mini, due to BMW's limited supply and long waitnig list, Chilli pack is good value (circa 1.2k) but you get half leather, chrome exterior, 16" alloys, spoiler + loads more.
Costs
Most used cars will have free serviceing for 5 years. Tyres for 16" run flats are 150 pounds each, ouch.

On the road
Driving
Feels like a go-kart. Very precise and loads of grip on 16" alloys with optional sports suspension.
Performance
Feels quick around town, sounds great but nothing to write home about when you look at the over-sized speedo.

Living with it
Reliability
Never had any problems.
Image
You get lots of looks in this car, especially from all other Mini drivers (all wave at each other). Weird!
Comfort
Definitely a town car, you will feel every pothole and manhole cover. Very bad back on a run, not a cruiser.

Security and Service
Security
Adequate standard fit immobiliser. Alarm is an option, never had mine nicked so can't be too bad.
Service
Good friendly service, but they never seem to have any parts in stock.
