MINI Cooper S (2006 - 2016) 1.6 3d Owner Review

With BMW backing I was looking for reliable small car which was fun to drive. It has not been reliable: seem to have near constant warning lights coming up (which can be disconcerting on motorway). This car has been stressful to own and have not been that impressed with customer service at Mini service centres either. Initially had thought that the overall size of the car would be fine, but over time have found the interior increasingly cramped - back seat is really cosmetic rather than anything else. Given the type of car it is the visibility (especially backwards when parking etc) is quite poor which have only really appreciated over time. Apart from the reliability and practicality issues, the handling is reasonable but not as "sporty" as had initially thought. Overall, purchasing this car turned out to be a significant disappointment.
