MINI Cooper S (2006 - 2016) 1.6 Cooper S Coupe (Chili Pack) 3d Owner Review

Firstly the car was a 57 plate low mileage 53k car bought private ( I couldn't put this in the drop down list ) first thing that went very early on was the clutch I wasn't expecting this as the car was low miles and came with a full mini service history that was £1500, then the EML light kept coming on and the car would go in to limp mode so it would go in to my local garage they couldn't find an issue so knocked out the light and it would be fine for 200 miles and it would do it again , I took it to a specialist who diagnosed it with carbon build up on the valves , these where blasted with crushed walnuts , the next thing was the throttle body we had 2 the first replacement lasted 2000 miles , it used oil at an alarming rate , we replaced the cam chain tensioner and then ,cam chain due to rattling , and then the cam cover needed replacing due to the crank breather system failing this part is intergrated in To the cam cover ridiculous as it costs £278 and It's such an issue mini can't get the part for 4 to 6 weeks as it's on back order this problem caused the car to go in to limp mode and blow the dip stick out every 50 miles , at this point I'd had enough after spending £3000 in repairs in 12 months it had to go ,apparently they have improved things on the later 2010 cars but I for one will never buy another Mini product thr R56 is a total turd you have been warned !!!!!!!!!!
