MINI Countryman SUV (2017 - 2024) Cooper S E All4 auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
This is my first hybrid car, I am reasonably happy with it, but certain things disappoint me. The battery range is nowhere near makers claims. In zero degrees it won’t run on battery! It shows 13 miles of battery, but only runs on ICE until things have warmed up a bit after around 6 miles or so, but then it only shows 7 battery miles! How did we lose 6 miles range whilst running on petrol? How does this car work for Scandinavian owners? NS Mirror dip in reverse is useless and cannot be adjusted, I like to focus the mirror on the NS rear wheel, BMW a only want me to view the kerb below the door!
Watch fitted options if buying new, mine had some glaring omissions (no front sensors) despite having £5k of extras. My car has a heated front screen but it is not needed as I can use the “climatisation” feature and pre heat the car on the cold mornings. It is really nice when it is icy outside to get into a nice warm car without having to stand in the cold de icing the windows! Car is QUICK, no denying that but I feel the brakes despite being vented front and rear could be much better. No where near as good as my previous SEAT Leon FR 184.
The range is disappointing, low teens in winter, high teens in our British summer, best range I have had was 22 miles. This car has the earlier 7.2kWh battery. Recharge costs overnight at home only 40 pence, as I have a cheap off peak rate of 5p per kWh with Octopus. I have enjoyed this car but some things have disappointed me, as standard, the trim level is poor for what is an expensive car, my Leon FR had more kit! A nice enough car roomy inside and big outside for a MINI, but I feel it is quite expensive for what you get. A hybrid car is a good car for someone who is anxious about range, you cannot get stuck with a flat battery as you have the ICE to run on. If I was to get another hybrid I would ensure it had a better range. Don’t look at Toyota/Lexus hybrids they cannot go more than a mile or two without the ICE cutting in. Ask a dealer how far they can go on battery only!! I am now moving to a full electric vehicle
