MINI Coupe (2011 - 2015) 1.6 Cooper Coupe 3d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I love my Mini Cooper Coupe, It has been super reliable and cheap to run. And you don't see many on the roads so I like the fact it's a bit unusual and quirky. My normal commute is through back roads and it is a hoot on the twisty roads, with superb handling and plenty quick enough. For 3 months I did a lot of motorway miles and it quite happily eats up the miles and to be honest it doesn't feel like you're in a small car. It is also surprisingly practical with a big boot, and with the cutaway headlining easily accommodates taller people. The 2 gripes I have are with the in-car entertainment system and the headlights. To connect an iphone you have to buy a cable from BMW that's £60 (it does have bluetooth but it's really limited functionality and not at all easy to navigate being as it's based on the old old old BMW Business system from donkeys years ago). Even then it's not a nice interface to use - it's very out-dated now. So if you can get one with the upgraded media system (TFT that sits in the centre clock) then get it! The other issue is the headlights - I have the standard halogen ones and they are truly rubbish. Now I had a 1st generation Mini Cooper and then a Mini Cooper S when they first came out and the Cooper had halogen headlights, and they were far superior to the ones on the 2nd generation. So my other tip is to get one with xenon headlights (I think the 3rd generation mini's have led headlights). So if you're considering buying one of these try and find one with the upgraded media system and xenons, and you will have a fantastic little car
How reliable do you find the car?
Mechanically the car has been faultless since I purchased it. The only problem, which I didn't think warranted knocking a star off, was it needed a new aux in connector in the centre consoleDoes the car do everything you expected it to do?
Whilst I would have liked the Cooper S version, the best example I found for the money I was spending was a Cooper, and it has exceeded my expectations with its performance - it's much more spritely than I was expecting!About their car
