Economy
Value
The price of Mini's in the US is great! About 10-15% less than in the UK.
Costs
Three years free maintenance, over 40 miles per gallon, but takes premium fuel which is more expensive.

On the road
Driving
More fun to drive than any other car.
Performance
Fantastic on curvey roads and expressways. Must work the engine harder on hills, but pull away excellently from traffic lights.

Living with it
Reliability
So far, no problem, but have only had it for one week. My battery light flickers occassionally, and I suspect a loose connection.
Image
People in the US are astounded by this car - mine is 'solid gold' with tan interior, so it stands out miles from huge pickups and SUVs. Everybody who sees it smiles.
Comfort
Driver's seat extremely comfortable; everything is adjustable and everything is within reach. Leather seats means lumbar support . 15" wheels means my ride is not too bumpy either.

Security and Service
Security
I have an immobiliser but no alarm. Not sure if it's more likely to attract unwanted attention given that it's so unusual here.
Service
Although sparse in the US, our service centre did everything they could to help us out. Picking up the car was a real ceremony and I even got a bunch of flowers.
