Economy
Value
Basic price reasonable, but soon rockets when you start adding the extras like the Chilli package. Still worth the money just for the smile it puts on your face. Five years servicing for £100 too.
Costs
Fair insurance costs, and economy good. Until that is you get on the back lanes and nail the throttle like it needs.

On the road
Driving
Smug sums it up. Nothing this side of an Evo or WRX comes close. Everyone looks at you, and it inspires confidence with sharpest of handling. Fantastic.
Performance
Chassis and suspension capable of so much more. Crying out for more grunt and needs to be revved hard to reap rewards. If only someone thought about putting a supercharger on one.....wait a minute!!

Living with it
Reliability
Only done 1000 miles (granted in three weeks of ownership), so early to tell. Suspicions over electrics though. Passenger window refuses to close with one touch, and LCD clock vanished briefly.
Image
Feel like a superstar. Be the envy of everyone. An absolute must have car. Perfect the art of arriving. Beat off people wanting a go with a big stick.
Comfort
Rear room comical at best...but you're not going to sit there are you? Ride firm, but car much the better for it. Some say cramped at front, I say fits like a tailored suit.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser standard, but no alarm. Ignore Beemer option and get a Clifford system fitted. Everyone wants one...tea leafs included.
Service
Waiting lists approaching Morgans in length, but can't blame BMW. Sale went though without a glitch and dealer kept me well informed of progress. Delivered on time. No problems so far.
