Economy
Value
Built well, appears solid and safe, some plastics in the cabin scuff really easily and trim is bit flimsy. Interior is starting to rattle a bit after 10k. Price on the high side considering the basic equipment.
Costs
Ensure you get the TLC pack as BMW servicing is fairly high cost.

Driving
Nice car to sit in and has direct steering, although understeers badly when pushed, probably better with the cooper wheels. Engine has plenty of torque for a 16v. Feels like a big car.
Performance
Not bad, but its heavy for a car of this size so slower than you would think. Averages 37mpg.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems mechanically. Windscreens suffer badly from stone chips and are not sealed very well - wind noise, whistling humming etc not uncommon.
Image
Most people like the design - not really my type.
Comfort
Very poor even with standard suspension. I have backache to prove. Feels too lively at the back end, ride is supposed to be better using normal tyres. Feels too stiffly sprung/damped. Seats only OK.
