What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 36 - 58 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

MINI isn’t a cheap car to run for its size, but if you see it as a mini-BMW, then it is. Fuel consumption isn’t brilliant but insurance is competitive, particularly for the MINI One.
It’s not the cheapest car of its age to tax, reflecting that simple but effective 1.6-litre engine, but with potential for over 40mpg, low maintenance bills, easy routine servicing and compared with more recent cars, relatively few mission-critical bits of technology to go wrong and stop it from working, the overall bills should be low and trust in the car, quite high.
Being a well-made premium small car there are some nice features that you’ll want to make sure are still in good order, such as the run-flat tyre option.
