In their own words
Having had 4 cars previous (with NO problems) to this Mini I was initially happy. During the end of the first year, beginning of the second year my brake warning light appeared on the dash board alongside a grinding noise. I booked It in with the Mini garage straight away to find out that the brakes had worn down to the disc so was metal on metal. This was not covered under the warranty due to it being classed as personal ware and tear (bearing in mind how old the car was and how little miles I had done). Mini charged me GBP700 on top of the GBP275.00 monthly payments. Mini was adamant that the brake warning light would have been there weeks before I called, but it honestly was not. I called as soon as the car told me there was a problem. I was absolutely furious to be told this was basically my fault when I have never had any issues with any other cars. Surely, for this to happen I would have been driving like Lewis Hamilton? I have never had a speeding ticket within my 8 years of driving by the way either. I would never recommend a Mini to anyone. I give my financed Mini back this month and couldn't be happy. I could have been driving around in a Golf GTI/Merc for the money I have been paying for this car. Also to add, the car is very juicy on short runs but better on long runs. Having spoken to others of whom have a mini or have had minis, they have nothing but expensive problems after. Mini have had the cheek to ring me up also to ask if I would have another one? I think not.
