Mitsubishi Carisma Hatchback 1.8 GLX 5d (AC) (1997/P) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Bought from a dealer - I'd buy another tomorrow but only privately.
Costs
Costs were low - I did my own servicing so used pattern filters and economy branded tyres.

On the road
Driving
An easy to drive car with light accelerator and clutch - handling seemed as good as is needed.
Performance
Fairly nippy and happy to cruise for extended distances at speeds that I won't admit to!

Living with it
Reliability
I had an alternator breakdown at about 80,000 miles - recovery and replacement at a local (Small) garage cost me £140, so not too bad - no other problems.
Image
I considered it one-up on a Mondeo, but not a BMW or Alfa!
Comfort
Driving position good, although I did occasionally suffer with 'numb bum' after a few hours at the wheel.

Security and Service
Security
The worst thing that happened was the remote locking fob needed a new battery! Otherwise no problems.
Service
Self servicing seemed OK but only basic servicing needed.
