Summary
What does this car say about you?
That there is still life in the old dog yet!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
A bit camp but at the price it was value for money.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes i would. I test drove a Vauxhall Tigra that had a dreadful harsh engine, Peageot 207 that was too expensive and big, Ford Ka that was just silly, Nisan Micra that was in the running but at £11,000 is was just over budget and a Daihatsu Copen that was almost tempting but had odd driving postion for tall people.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another CZC

£10,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Car was £10,000 all in including plates, tax, vat, car mats, full tank of petrol. As I offered cash car mats, fuel and tax were thrown in for free. Paid an extra £550.00 for front and rear parking syatem.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted small convertible with solid roof
What was the dealer like?
I called into Hummingbird Motors in Finchley and they showed no interest in me wanting a car, they seem to more busy drinking tea. However after a visit to Robinsons in Leicester I did buy one after a full test drive.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent to drive, some oversteer but you can throw it around corners with ease. Acceleration is a tad slow in the mid band and is non existent about 4000rpm. It does rev freely and will perform well once floored. Brakes are excellent and will stop you very quickly
What's it like to park?
Parking can be a nightmare without the parking sensors. Lack of rear vision and driving position makes it difficult to see "each corner". The rear is particularly bad as the boot sticks out further than you think it does. Also the front is difficult to gauge as you cant see the "beggining" of the car. However with the parking sensors this becomes no problem and you can park it in a space 6" longer than the car. Also three point turns are a problem due to low skirt on the front catching high curbs and pavements.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major has gone wrong. However the car is plagued with rattles and squeeks. The rear roof lining rattles when the roof is up (I did solve the problem by stuffing an old duster in the void.) Both the glass in the sun visors rattle. The rattle get worse in hot weather when things start expanding. The electric windows sometimes "bounce" down on their safety feature when wound up.
What's most practical about your car?
It does have great front seat space and loads of headroom. The climate control works well even with the roof off! The wide doors allow easy access. The boot is huge with roof up. Parking is easy after you get used to the lack of rear vision.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The roof is a show stopper, kids just love it!
